Exchange / Trade in Crypto Wallet

Important:

  • While offering access to cryptocurrency swaps and tokenized asset trading, Crypto Wallet does not provide investment advice. Like any other cryptocurrency-related operation, interacting with such assets involves risks.
  • “Stocks”, “ETFs”, and any references to “tokenized stocks / ETFs” refer to xStocks. xStocks are price-linked tokens tied to real-world shares of US stocks and ETFs. Continue reading to learn more about stocks, ETFs and other assets traded in Crypto Wallet.

About the Trade section

The "Trade" section allows you to exchange TON, USDT and XLM for popular tokens across different blockchains and store them in your Crypto Wallet. At the moment, you cannot withdraw these assets to external platforms, nor can you increase your balance by receiving them from third-party services. For simplicity, we will refer to these tokens as Trading Assets. Trading Assets are not limited to blockchains that are already supported in Crypto Wallet. See the list of supported Trading Assets here.

Crypto Wallet also supports a variety of tokens that you can withdraw and deposit from external services, as well as swap via our “Trade” section. Such tokens are called supported tokens. See the list of supported tokens here.

In addition, Crypto Wallet allows you to get exposure to the real-world stock market through buying and storing special tokens — Tokenized Stocks & ETFs, with their value pegged to that of notable US stocks and traded funds. See the list of supported Stocks and ETFs here.

In the “Trade” section, you can buy and sell Trading assets, Supported tokens for USDT, TON and XLM. In addition, you can buy and sell tokenized Stocks and ETFs for USDT and TON. In the "Trade" section, you can also see lists of the most popular assets over the past 24 hours.

For faster exchange of the assets already stored in your balance, use the Exchange button on Crypto Wallet’s main page.

What data is available on the token page

The token page provides relevant and up-to-date information to help you evaluate an asset before interacting with it. You can view the price chart as well as a range of important metrics for token analysis.

To assess a token, you can use the following information:

  • Total Supply — the maximum possible or planned number of tokens that can be issued, including locked tokens.
  • Circulating Supply — the amount of funds available for buying and selling the token.
  • Market Cap — the total value of the token, calculated based on its current price and the number of tokens in circulation.
  • Volume — the total trading volume of the token over the past 24 hours, including the amount bought and sold.

Market Cap (Capitalization) refers to the theoretical total value of a certain cryptocurrency: the total amount of coins in circulation multiplied by the current price of one coin. Simply put, market capitalization attempts to measure the impact of a particular cryptocurrency on the market.

This information will help you better analyze price trends before investing or trading.

Note: the information that you see on the Stocks and ETFs pages reflects data on the related tokenized assets in Crypto Wallet, not on the actual stocks and ETFs. For Stocks and ETFs, data on volume and market cap is not provided.

Important: Asset prices and market data are sourced from CoinMarketCap and provided for informational purposes only. Always do your own research and carefully assess the risks before investing in any token.

Stocks and ETFs in Crypto Wallet

What are Stocks? What are ETFs

Stocks are securities issued by a corporation that reflect the share of a particular individual’s interest in this corporation (such as share of financial returns or voting rights). By buying one share of stock, an investor gets an asset that allows them to benefit from possible capital gains (caused by fluctuations in stock price) and dividends paid by the company itself. A company’s stock price (market price) reflects the company’s current worth based on its performance and available public information.

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) collect money from investors and use it to buy different financial instruments (such as stocks or bonds). ETF shares are traded on stock exchanges, which means they can be bought and sold at any time during normal trading hours. ETFs usually hold a wide range of assets, helping investors reduce risk through diversification. The price of an ETF reflects the current value of all the assets it holds (its portfolio).

Stocks and ETFs in Crypto Wallet are not actual stocks and ETFs — they are merely tokens pegged to the price of actual U.S. stocks/ETFs. Tokenized Stocks and ETFs reflect the value of actual assets but do not grant shareholder rights. Learn more about the difference between Tokenized and Standard stocks here.

You can see the available stocks and ETFs on the Trade page, when selecting the corresponding tab in the “Crypto stocks” section.

Important: We do not provide brokerage services and do not sell foreign securities. Crypto Wallet only provides an interface to tokens issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited. See here the Terms governing Stocks and ETFs transactions.

How tokenized stocks differ from standard stocks

Holding tokenized Stocks does not grant you voting rights or any other shareholder privileges — only price linkage to the real stock and its dividends. The table below outlines the main differences between tokenized stocks in Crypto Wallet and standard company shares:

What are the trading hours for stocks and ETFs in Crypto Wallet

Important: Due to the Thanksgiving holidays in the United States, on November 26 – 28, stock and ETF trading in Crypto Wallet will be open according to this schedule:

  • November 26: 05:01 – 00:50 UTC (trading will close during the night of November 27)
  • November 27: holiday (no trading)
  • November 28: 09:10 – 21:50 UTC

Stocks & ETFs trades are open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week — from Monday, 00:10 UTC, to Friday, 23:50 UTC, excluding market holidays.

You can freely trade in Crypto Wallet during this time period.

Important:

  • If you place trades outside the trading hours of US exchanges, your order price may be significantly different from the last price of the underlying asset on the stock exchange.
  • Trading hours may change due to daylight-saving adjustments or public holidays.

Do corporate events affect the value of stocks and ETFs in Crypto Wallet

Yes, they do. Each Stock in Crypto Wallet is a tokenized version of a standard share of stock. Thus, corporate actions affecting the value of underlying stocks or ETFs can influence your balance in Crypto Wallet as well.

Examples of common corporate events:

When executed by a standard stock issuer company, these events can also alter the prices of your Stocks and ETFs in Crypto Wallet, as well as the number of tokens in your balance.

  1. Split example:

Imagine a 2:1 split event for a NFLX stock. You had 5 NFLXx shares, priced at $10 each before the split.

  • After the split, you will receive one additional share for each existing one. As a result, you will have 10 NFLXx shares, priced at $5 ($10 / 2) each.
  • As such, the total value of your tokens will not change after the split — the price of each token halved, but the number of shares will double.
  1. Reverse split example:

Imagine a 1:2 reverse split event for a TSLA stock. You had 6 TSLAx shares, priced at $24 each before the event.

  • After the reverse split, you will only have 3 TSLAx shares, priced at $48 each ($24 × 2).

Important:

  • Because you are not a shareholder of the underlying real company, corporate events do not confer direct benefits to you. Crypto Wallet has no obligation regarding corporate actions.
  • You may not always receive notice of corporate actions.
  • Crypto Wallet does not provide any investment or tax recommendations. It is your sole responsibility to assess the suitability and the impact of your investment.

Are dividend payouts provided for tokenized Stocks

When the company whose stock is represented in Crypto Wallet pays dividends to its shareholders, equivalent payouts are distributed to holders of the tokenized versions in the form of additional shares. Instead of receiving a cash dividend, your stock balance in Crypto Wallet increases to reflect the dividend amount.

The payouts are credited to your Crypto Wallet within several days after the reception of dividends by the holders of the underlying real shares.

Example: You own 10 AAPLx tokens. Apple Inc. declares a dividend of $0.25 per 1 AAPLx share. Instead of receiving $2.50 ($0.25 × 10) in cash, Backed Finance (the issuer of tokenized stocks) uses that amount to purchase additional Apple shares. These shares are then tokenized and credited to your Crypto Wallet. Your AAPLx balance automatically increases — for example, to 10.05 tokens, if $2.50 equals 0.05 tokens.

Important: Cash dividend payouts are not provided for tokenized stocks.

What can I do with stocks / ETFs after purchasing them

After purchasing tokenized assets, you can:

  • Store them in your Crypto Wallet balance and sell them later.
  • Exchange them for TON or USDT.
  • Send them to your contacts via Telegram chats.

Are there any regional restrictions for Stock / ETF trading

At this stage, tokenized stocks and ETFs are available only to residents of a limited number of countries. Over time, the list of countries with these types of tokens available will gradually expand.

Important: The availability of certain stocks or ETFs in the Crypto Wallet interface may depend on the user’s jurisdiction and the issuer’s regulations.

What are the risks associated with stock / ETF trading in Crypto Wallet

Crypto Wallet outlines several key areas of potential risk related to tokenized stocks and ETFs in xStocks Terms of Service.

Here are the key risks you should be aware of:

  1. Market Risk and Volatility.

Stocks and ETFs in Crypto Wallet mirror real-life financial assets with relatively volatile prices. The price of a tokenized asset may fluctuate significantly over short periods — at times even more than the price of the underlying stock.

  2. Liquidity Risk.

Market liquidity for tokenized Stocks and ETFs may be limited. In extreme market conditions, or if trading halts, you may be unable to buy or sell the desired amount of assets at your desired price or time.

  3. De-Peg Risk.

While tokenized Stocks and ETFs are intended to mirror the prices of real stocks, they may not always track them perfectly in real time. Tokenized asset prices can deviate ("de-peg") from the underlying stock prices due to low liquidity, off-market trading hours, or issuer adjustments./

  4. Issuer Risk.

Tokenized Stocks and ETFs are backed by a third-party issuer (Backed Assets Limited). If the issuer fails to properly maintain the 1:1 backing, your assets could become partially or entirely unbacked, and their value may drop significantly.

By dealing with stocks and ETFs in Crypto Wallet, you confirm that you understand and accept these risks.

Important:

  • Nothing on our platform or in our communications should be considered investment or financial advice regarding tokenized Stocks, ETFs, or underlying assets.
  • Past performance of any asset is not indicative of future results.
  • By investing in tokenized assets, you acknowledge that you can lose your entire investment and should not invest funds you cannot afford to lose.
  • You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with any laws, regulations, or tax obligations applicable to your trading of tokenized assets in your jurisdiction.
  • If you are unsure about investing in tokenized assets, or any type of asset, you should consult with a qualified financial adviser.

Is verification required to trade or make exchanges

To be able to transact both with trading assets and with tokenized stocks and ETFs, users just need to complete a basic level of verification. To complete it, you need to provide some information about yourself: full name, date of birth, country of residence, and phone number.

That said, at any stage of using the service, Crypto Wallet may request additional information from you. For example, this may include a request for identity verification, proof of address, or confirmation of the source of wealth or funds. In such cases, we will send a notification in the chat with Crypto Wallet with instructions on the next steps.

Identity check is a standard procedure of all custodial crypto services. Since Crypto Wallet must meet AML / CTF (Anti-Money Laundering / Counter-Terrorist Financing) requirements, we need to conduct customer identity verification (KYC — Know Your Customer). You can check more details on the importance of verification here.
